Vance Briefly Suspended From Bluesky After Joining Left-Wing Platform

Vice President JD Vance was briefly suspended from Bluesky, a far-left social media website, immediately after joining on Wednesday.

Vance published his first post on Bluesky on Wednesday evening, writing, “Hello Bluesky, I’ve been informed your app has become the place to go for common sense political conversation and analysis. So I’m delighted to be here to interact with all of you.”

Vance shared an image of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ concurring opinion in United States v. Skrmetti, which affirmed Tennessee’s restriction on puberty blockers and hormone therapies for transgender adolescents.

He followed up with two additional posts promoting discussion about Thomas’ views.

Shortly after, X users tweeted screenshots of Vance’s suspended account. The account was back online by Thursday morning.

The social media company claimed that Vance’s account was briefly suspended by its automatic algorithms that detect impersonation attempts, including those of public personalities. The spokesperson said the account was “quickly restored and verified so people can easily confirm its authenticity.”

This comes as chatter has been picking up about Vance being the leading candidate for Republicans heading into the 2028 presidential election.

Rupert Murdoch’s vast U.S. media empire—including the Wall Street Journal, Fox News, and the New York Post—has been steadily intensifying its criticism of Vance.

The sustained attacks appear to be a continuation of Murdoch-owned outlets’ failed attempt to dissuade President Trump from choosing Vance as his running mate during the 2024 presidential election.

Since then, the Wall Street Journal alone has published more than a dozen critical pieces targeting Vance, with additional negative coverage appearing in both the New York Post and on Fox News, according to a Breitbart News report.

Murdoch’s media campaign has sparked frustration among those close to President Trump and Vice President JD Vance. One source familiar with Vance’s thinking told Breitbart News the attacks are clearly part of a globalist effort to undermine the president’s agenda on peace and trade.

“Neocons have been screwing up U.S. foreign policy for decades and they’re furious that they have no foothold in this administration,” a source close to Vance told Breitbart News.

“President Trump has ended Houthi terrorist attacks on U.S. ships, freed all living American hostages in Gaza and he’s forcing Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table and stopping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. They hate his success because it has exposed them as massive failures,” the source continued.

A senior GOP political adviser stated that this demonstrates the Murdoch properties are misaligned with the current direction of the Republican Party.

“It’s a shame so much of the old guard media is still pushing forever wars and completely out of touch with the direction of the GOP,” the Republican adviser told Breitbart.

Another Republican strategist with close ties to the Trump White House said those within the administration and their allies are increasingly willing to work with alternative outlets like Breitbart News, rather than Fox News or the Wall Street Journal, which they view as out of step with the priorities of the voters.

“President Trump has been the leader of the Republican Party for almost a decade, and Murdoch-media still isn’t onboard with his agenda,” the strategist told the outlet. “They’re digging their own graves and they’re going to keep losing access. There are plenty of outlets the White House can talk to, like Breitbart, who reach Republican voters and actually believe in making America great.”

Since February, the Wall Street Journal has published at least 17 op-eds and letters to the editor criticizing Vice President JD Vance—a barrage that appears to have intensified in late May and early June.

The critiques focus primarily on Vance’s positions on economic and foreign policy, highlighting a growing rift between the traditional GOP establishment and the emerging economic nationalist wing of the party that Vance prominently represents, Breitbart noted.
