Prominent MAGA Influencer Reveals Possible Replacement For AG Bondi

Laura Loomer lit up social media on Friday with a string of posts, and one of them was quickly confirmed by major outlets.

She reported that Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is “now seriously thinking about RESIGNING” over the backlash from the Epstein Files memo, which concluded there was no conspiracy.

CNN and Axios confirmed the report not long after.

Loomer also followed up with her initial report, stating that if Attorney General Pam Bondi is fired, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is being floated as a possible replacement.

“If Blondi is fired, I’m told @GovRonDeSantis has been considered/floated for the role of Attorney General by some over the last few months,” she said on X, intentionally throwing shade at Bondi with the nickname “Blondi.”

She added that some GOP donors are privately backing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the job, though he is looking to challenge incumbent U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) in the primary.

“Discussions have been taking place for several months about who could be Blondi’s replacement if she ever was fired or resigned,” Loomer said. “She has not done a good job as AG and everyone knows it.”

Loomer has been hammering Bondi for weeks and has repeatedly called for her resignation.

In another post, she said, “A lot of people who work for President Trump are pissed with Blondi. They know she Fkd up. Now it’s a matter of what happens next. She is an embarrassment to Donald Trump and his administration and we need to protect Trump from people who want to DRAG HIM DOWN. Blondi needs to be fired.”

After the Bongino resignation scoop broke wide, Loomer took a victory lap.

“CNN @kaitlancollins is now confirming my exclusive report about how @dbongino is considering RESIGNING from the FBI over his clash with Pam Blondi and the DOJ for her mishandling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and lack of transparency at the DOJ,” she said. “Notice how they don’t even cite my reporting even though I was first to break the news about him taking the day off today and contemplating resigning.”

According to sources familiar with the matter, Bongino didn’t show up to work on Friday, CBS News reported.

One FBI source called his absence a “pressing issue” for the bureau.

The conflict comes after days of fallout over a Justice Department and FBI memo on Epstein, which claimed he died by suicide and that there was no “client list” or evidence of blackmailing powerful individuals. Some of Trump’s supporters are not convinced.

Sources said Bondi and Bongino clashed during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday over how the Epstein findings were rolled out.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles was also in the meeting, which was first reported by Axios.

Two sources told CBS News that Bongino is considering resigning because of the backlash.

A source familiar with the meeting said President Trump hasn’t lost confidence in anyone, but there’s frustration over how Bongino handled the fallout.

White House spokesperson Harrison Fields pushed back.

“Any attempt to sow division within this team is baseless and distracts from the real progress being made in restoring public safety and pursuing justice for all,” Fields said.

“President Trump has assembled a highly qualified and experienced law and order team dedicated to protecting Americans, holding criminals accountable, and delivering justice to victims,” he added. “This work is being carried out seamlessly and with unity.”

Loomer has long been a lightning rod in the MAGA movement, but her influence has grown especially with Trump listening closely to her in recent months.

She was widely credited with persuading Trump to remove National Security Advisor Mike Waltz in April, along with other national security officials she pushed him to fire.

Loomer first made headlines for her anti-Islam comments and conspiracy theories, and stirred fresh controversy during the 2024 campaign when she joined Trump at 9/11 memorial events.
